Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Birthday+ is published by Mind Foundry Studio, Paris. This policy describes what the app does with your data. It applies only to Birthday+ (iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Android and their widgets).

2. The data we process

• Your account: the email address, first name and identifier provided at sign-up (Apple, Google or email). Without an account, the app creates an anonymous guest identifier, with no email or name, so that your reminders can be sent.
• Your list: what you enter for each person — first name, last name, nickname, date of birth, tag, notes, gift ideas, photo, phone number, card background, event type.
• Importing from your contacts: with your consent, the app reads the contacts on your phone that have a birthday (first name, last name, date, photo, main phone number) and offers them to you. Only the contacts you select are saved to your list. The rest of your address book is neither stored nor transmitted.
• Your settings: language, reminder delays and time, display preferences.
• Notifications: your device’s notification token, and the Live Activity token (Lock Screen), to send you the reminders you chose.
• Your subscription: its status and your purchase history, reported by the App Store or Google Play and managed by our provider RevenueCat, which also receives your identifier, email address and name to link the subscription to your account. We never see your payment method or banking details.
• Usage analytics: usage events (screens opened, features used, device model, OS version), without the content of your list, through PostHog, to understand what is useful and fix what breaks.

3. Where your data is

• Your list and your account are hosted on Firebase (Google Cloud), in the Europe region, encrypted in transit. Photos are stored on Firebase Storage, in your own space.
• A copy of your list is kept on your device for offline display, widgets, Apple Watch and Siri. It is erased when you sign out.

4. Why

• To display and organize your birthdays, and send you the reminders you set.
• To sync your list across your devices, your Apple Watch, your widgets and Siri.
• To let you message or call someone from their card, if you saved their number.
• To run your subscription, and to improve the app.

5. With whom

• We never sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.
• Our technical providers access it only to run the service: Google Firebase (hosting, authentication, notifications), Apple and Google (notifications, purchases), RevenueCat (subscription management) and PostHog (usage analytics).

6. For how long

• As long as your account exists. Deleting your account from the app (Profile › Account management, or “Erase my data” for a guest) removes your list, your photos, your shared lists and your settings from our servers, along with the data linked to your account at RevenueCat and PostHog. • A guest account that was never linked to an email or identifier is deleted with its data after twelve months of inactivity.

7. Your rights

• Access, correct and delete your data directly in the app; export your list from the profile.
• Withdraw your consent to Contacts access at any time in your phone’s settings; entries already imported stay in your list until you delete them.
• Object to usage analytics, or exercise any other right under the GDPR, by writing to us. You may also contact the CNIL.
